Al-Nassr’s forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been handed a one-game suspension by the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) after an incident following their 3-2 victory over Al Shabab.
The suspension comes after Ronaldo was observed making an apparent obscene gesture towards Al Shabab fans at the end of the match. He was seen cupping his ear and gesturing forward with his hand near his pelvic area in response to chants of Lionel Messi’s name from the opposing supporters.
Additionally, Ronaldo has been fined 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666), with the amount to be paid to the Saudi Football Federation, along with an additional 20,000 riyals to Al Shabab to cover the costs of the complaint filing fees.
The committee’s decision, which includes the suspension and fines, is deemed final and cannot be appealed.
