Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles held Black Galaxies of Ghana to a 0-0 draw, in the first leg of the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier in Accra on Sunday.
It was a game that saw the home-based Eagles begin edge the early part of the tie before the Black Galaxies turned the tide.
The home team had a bright start in the sefond half but could not breach the Eagles defence.
The closest the home-based Eagles came to scoring was through Adamu Abubakar in the second half but his effort came off the bar.
Both teams will meet again in the sefond leg billed for Saturday, 28 December in Uyo.
The winner over two legs in the play-off will qualify for the 2024 (CHAN)
The last time the two teams clashed at this stage of the CHAN qualifiers was for the 2022 edition which the Black Galaxies won on penalties.
In the first leg in Kumasi the Black Galaxies won 2-0 before the home-based Eagles recorded the same scoreline in the reverse fixture in Abuja.
