
Former Spain forward Vitolo has announced his retirement from football.
The former Atletico Madrid, Las Palmas and Sevilla confirmed his retirement today.
Vitolo made the announcement, having not played competitive football for over 18 months.

He said: “People will have understood it because I haven’t set foot on a football pitch for two years.”
Vitolo’s transfer from Sevilla to Atlético cost the Madrid club €35.5 million, but due to injuries, he never found his footing at the club.
A loan spell at Las Palmas, where he had hoped to revive his career, also did not bear fruit. Since July 1 of last year, he has been a free agent.
