Last season, Manchester City made history as the first English football club to lift six trophies across both its men’s and women’s teams in one season. Now, their fans in Nigeria will get a chance to see the trophies up close, as the club is set to bring them on a tour to Lagos this August.
Thanks to the popularity of European football leagues in Africa, a number of big clubs have embarked on trophy tours across the continent. While Manchester City is hopping on the trend, Daily Trust reports that the club wants to also use it as an avenue to celebrate with their fans.
If you’re wondering how many of the trophies will actually be on display during the tour, well, the answer is all six of them. If this isn’t enough to get you hyped, then the fact that Manchester City legend, Micah Richards will accompany the trophies should do the trick.
In addition to other activities lined up, fans will also get the chance to see the club’s home dressing room at the Etihad Stadium, courtesy of an immersive experience that is modelled to look like the interior. So, no need to bother travelling to Manchester to experience the club.
The tour will take place on August 31.
