Last year, Waje released her second album, Red Velvet, which she followed with an announcement that she’d be retiring from music. Contrary to that, Waje has actually kept at her music career, with her latest effort being the music video for her Johnny Drille-assisted song, “Udue”.
On “Udue” — a standout off Red Velvet — Waje wakes up beside a man who makes her glow, singing that she wants to be in love with him for the rest of her life. Charged with the song’s bridge, Johnny Drille, who also produced the track, assures Waje that he feels the same way too.
Directed by Catalyst, the video for “Udue” see Waje performing in a serene nature reserve, while Johnny Drille and his lover illustrate her beautiful lyrics. Highlighting the beauty of nature, this video also mirrors the song’s bright energy, as well as the richness of Waje and Johnny Drille’s voices.
