Babajide started all three games in the month, including the Super League victory at Bristol City and the FA Cup win against Blackburn Rovers.

The game against Blackburn saw Babajide’s standout performance as she scored two goals in each half and took her season’s total to seven.

The 21-year-old, a natural winger who has also been deployed as a central striker, said: “I’m really honoured to be Player of the Month and thanks to all the fans that voted.

“I feel like our performances have been getting better all the time and two back-to-back wins show that. Now we need another three points and that would be massive for us.”

On which of her goals is her favourite: “It was the volley [past Blackburn] for me, though I’m not sure which one the fans enjoyed most,” she said.

“We just needed to hit the back of the net because we’ve been playing well without scoring so it’s a confidence boost for all of us.”

Babajide rose to media recognition in 2016 after scoring 14 goals for the University of East London women’s football team in an amateur game which ended 40-0 against the women’s football team of the University College, London.

She joined Millwall Lionesses Ladies from Crystal Palace Ladies in January 2015, but made her professional debut on March 18 against the London Bees in a FA WSL match which ended in a draw.

In February 2017, Babajide completed a transfer to Watford Ladies and scored her first competitive goal for the club in a 3-2 loss to London Bees in a FA WSL Spring Series fixture.

Bababjide finished as Watford’s joint top scorer in the 2017 Spring Series before transferring to Liverpool on 25 January 2018.

In August 2018, Rinsola was part of the England U20s squad that claimed bronze at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

She could still represent Nigeria due to her Nigerian roots and has not played a competitive game at senior level for England.
