The Oyo State Police Command on Monday deployed its personnel to monitor the protest in Ibadan organised by Youths in the state, to agitate the high cost of living in the country.
The police said they were at the scene of the protest to forestall hoodlums from hijacking the peaceful protest.
The Oyo State Police Command in a statement on Monday afternoon, emphasised:
@OyoPoliceNG
“Good Afternoon Fam! @OyoPoliceNG was out to observe the Mokola Protests.
“This was necessary to protect the lives and property of the good citizens of Oyo inclusive of those on the procession.
“We understand that hoodlums could hijack the process, hence the need to be proactive.”
