
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has expressed his support for the establishment of state police to address security challenges in the country.
Governor Sani who featured in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday said ending the security challenges will not be on sight except if the state police was established to complement the current efforts of the security agencies, National Daily Newspaper gathered.
The governor also said plans were ongoing by the state government to establish new military forward operation bases in the state to tackle security challenges.
Speaking on the recent bandits attack in some communities in Kajuru, Igabi and Kauru Local Government Areas of the state, Sani said efforts were being made to rescue the kidnapped victims.
He said: “In the last few months we have been having meetings with our core security agencies, comprising the military, the Police Force, the DSS and our local vigilante service.

“We are also working closely with traditional and community leaders to ensure proper intelligence gathering and sharing, and I believe that we would be able to address this issue and rescue those kidnapped in the coming days, He added.
“Additionally, in Kaduna state plans are ongoing to establish more Military Forward Operation Bases following the resurgence of security challenges in the state.
“I have always insisted that we need more boots on ground, we can only address the issue of insecurity if we establish state police and I’m happy that some governors have realized that we can’t address this issue alone, National Daily Newspaper gathered.
