On Wednesday, Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, insisted that anything could happen to anybody amid the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Chippa United shot-stopper said this while thanking everyone who checked up on him after he sustained a knee injury during Nigeria’s AFCON round of 16 win over Cameroon a few days ago.
Nwabali, in a tweet via his X account ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON quarter-final clash with Angola on Friday, said: “Thanks to everyone who checked up and showed disquiet in one way or the other at this strenuous time, I appreciate.
“We’re all human and anything is prone to happen. Onto the next one.”
Nwabali was forced off injured during the 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the last-16 match.
He was replaced by Francis Uzoho for the last 10 minutes of that match.
