Former Inspector general of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, handing over to the Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on resumption of office at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, stated that he led a team of the Nigeria Police Force that made a notable impact on internal security in the country. The former IGP noted that he’s leaving a more improved Force behind.
Meanwhile, Egbetokun, resuming office as the 22nd Inspector General of Police of the Nigeria Police Force, acknowledged that much still needs to be done, noting he is aware of the enormous responsibility that accompanies his appointment.
The Ag IGP solicited for cooperation and teamwork from the operatives; he promised to run a transparent and integrity-driven regime.
IGP Egbetokun disclosed plans to strengthen the intelligence-gathering capabilities of the Force, including building a stronger inter-agency collaboration and deepen the technology approach to guaranteeing internal security.
