Some parts of Balogun Market on Lagos Island have been destroyed by a Tuesday morning fire.
The cause and magnitude of the fire incident at the market are not known.
Reports say an eyewitness disclosed that the fire broke out at “32 Balogun plaza, where ladies’ shoes dealers are.”
According to Jubril Gawat, a media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, “two divisions of our Lagos Fire Service are on the ground already.”
Firefighters from the United Bank of Africa (UBA), Gawat disclosed, are also helping the state’s operatives to combat the fire.
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the member representing the Ideato North state constituency, at the Imo House of Assembly, Arthur Egwim is dead.
Arthur Egwim died following some health-related issues.
