Due to the commercial success of films like Chief Daddy, The Wedding Party and 30 Days in Atlanta, it’s clear that Nigerian audiences can’t get enough of star-studded comedies.

Well, it looks like they won’t have to, as the first teaser for another film in the same vein, Makate Must Sell, has been released, and it stars Chigul, Toyin Abraham and Toke Makinwa, who is making her Nollywood debut.

While the teaser doesn’t give too much of the plot away, we can put together that it’s about a woman (played by Chigul) who is in search of love and resolves to test the waters. On this journey, she encounters a lot of awful men, who she indulges because her ‘market must sell’.

From minute-long teaser, it seems as though the film aims to reflect the societal pressures women face to get married when they’re ‘of age’. We’re excited to see how this film tackles this subject while making us laugh at the same time. Makate Must Sell hits theatres on May 3.
