Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, and other chiefs on Sunday scampered for safety as #EndSARS protesters invade Ogbomosho palace, Oyo State.
It was gathered that the protesters had on Sunday stormed the palace of Soun of Ogbomoso to demand an explanation from the king over his failure to condemn the death of a 20-year-old protester, Jimoh Isiaq, who was shot dead at Owode police station on Saturday.
The demonstration got ugly and the palace was scattered and damages done, the Soun, the Minister and other chiefs reportedly ran from the Palace for safety and security operatives were sent to keep the palace calm and eventually some protesters were killed.
A video circulating on the social media shows the mooment the police were seen moving two dead bodies, including one teenager, into a police van.

KanyiDaily had earlier reported that not less than eight #EndSARS protesters were allegedly shot dead on Sunday by the police in Ogbomosho.
However, the Sport Minister, Sunday Dare, quickly went on social media to tag the protesters as hoodlums and miscreants in apparent bid to justify the discriminate use of lethal force by the security operatives.
“Ogbomoso-Hoodlums, thugs & miscreants distrupt stakeholders meeting in Soun’s palace now-invading, stoning and breaking doors, glasses. Soun, myself and council chiefs were scurried into safety by the police and DSS. Ogbomoso youth are law abiding. But hoodlums have taken over.
“The hoodlums broke into the palace and destroyed chairs, overturned tables, broke windows. These were not Youth or Students. These were miscreants and thugs who saw a window of opportunity in the protest which since abated. Thankfully.Soun, the chiefs, leaders of Parapo are safe.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon, barely hours after the inspector-general of police, Mohammed Adamu, announced the immediate disbandment of the SARS police unit following nationwide protests over its brutality.
