Rothaham United Manager, Paul Warne, is delighted to see Semi Ajayi turning out better in his new defensive midfield role for the club, reports Completesports.com.

Ajayi, a natural central defender was deployed as defensive midfielder for the Miller’s and he has flourished in the role scoring five goals in his last four games.

“He has the athleticism to play in midfield, that’s for sure,” Warne revealed in his pre-match conference ahead of Rotherham United clash against Norwich on Saturday.

“I think he’s learning the role, which was unusual to him to start with.”

“He’s getting better, his awareness is improving, and I thought that both offensively and defensively he was really good last night.”

“He broke up play and set us going on attacks, and obviously to score two goals is really good.”

“He feels confident at the moment which is great, as do many of the players.”

Warne also reflects  on his side’s dramatic win at QPR where Ajayi bagged a double.

“It was a great relief, but to be honest, just winning a game is a relief, it doesn’t matter if it is home or away.”

“Obviously, for the away fans to travel down and with the way it happened in the last 30 seconds of the game, you know it is the winning goal so it is something special.”

“I’ve spoken to the players about it today, and I had five minutes with Semi on his own, those moments in life you cannot recreate in any other environment other than sport.”
