I was stunned to silence about the story of Maryam Hassan, a beautiful young girl in Badakoshi Boi Village who come to this world by accident.

Born six years ago Maryam Hassan unlike her mate was abandoned by her parents since she was born.

The father a serving officer of the Nigeria Army and a promising young girl brought Maryam through immorality but abandoned her to her grandmother. Maryam’s means of livelihood is at stake as the grandmother is poor enough to care for her upbringing.

Maryam sometimes roams around as I was told to fend for her life. I met Maryam playing with her friends today. I Watched with admiration from distance and I became curious to know what happened to young Maryam.

She is crippled on both legs and couldn’t walk normal. No shoe and no clothes to wear. This got me thinking all day long.

 As I sympathize with her I found out that she is still the happiest person on earth. Until I began to inquire about her history.

Narrating Maryam condition to me Mrs. Saratu said Maryam was born through an unwanted pregnancy and the father who is an Army Officer Maiduguri brought Maryam to her world but had not refused to show up since then neither can be reach on phone or any means of communication.

Maryam hope to go to  school like her friends remains impossible except by miracle. She can’t walk with her legs because both legs were boneless.

The mother of Maryam had also abandoned her to her fate. It took the effort of Mrs. Saratu to save the life of Maryam Hassan.

 In 2017 Mrs. Saratu took her to Jos University Teaching Hospital JUTH where a surgical operation was performed on Maryam.

As expected Maryam is in dear need of help to ensure her fulfill her dream.

I have also informed the Social Welfare officials Bogoro LGA to rescue Maryam Hassan from  facing a block future and she is in dear need of whosoever that cares.
