Alex Iwobi has described as crazy his deadline day move to Everton from Arsenal, reports Completesports.com.

Iwobi left his boyhood club on the last day of the summer transfer window for Everton.

The Nigeria international also states he didn’t regret the decision to leave the Gunners.

“Everything was last minute but I don’t regret the decision. I am happy to be here,” Iwobi told LiverpoolEcho.

“Honestly, do you know where I was? I was in Dubai on a family holiday and I’d been there for four or five days before deadline day.

“I got the call saying Everton were interested. It was literally mad for the last two or three days.”

But with The Tofees’ first bid – which was rejected – having only gone in the day before deadline day, and their second not accepted until the final few hours of the window, there was no time for Iwobi to fly back to England.

And so there would be no time for a medical to take place.

“I wasn’t able to,” he explains.

“They were able to get the medicals off Arsenal and Arsenal were able to hand them in. It was literally a crazy holiday.

“I was on a boat and had to rush back to the sign everything on time, it was crazy.

“There was one part of me thinking: ‘This might not go through’.”
