Three armed robbers have been arrested in Port Harcourt by security forces.

The robbers were apprehended in Port Harcourt by the Diobu (Vigilante) Security Service (DSS).

On Monday, April 19, the robbery suspects were apprehended while harassing a lady known as Chioma Grace Sotonye at Rumuelechi axis of Mile 3 Port Harcourt.

Some residents of Rumuelechi saw the gang members dragging the young lady “to go and rape her after robbing her,” according to a comment by DSS vigilante Coordinator Amatati Bipeledi.

Residents immediately alerted security personnel, who swung into action and arrested them, he said.

Comrade Godstime Ihunwo, the leader of the DSS Rumuelechi Unit, backed up the Coordinator’s claim.

Ihunwo told reporters that his men had arrested members of a gang led by one Chikere, also known as “Junior.”

They were apprehended after robbing the lady of her handbag, he stated.

He said they took her phone and the $5,000.00 in her pocket.

The incident has elicited no response from the Rivers Police Command.
