
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 287 more cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
The new recorded infections bring the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 159,933.
The Nigerian health agency made the announcement on Thursday night while giving an update on its official website.
According to the report, seven persons died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths so far to 2,001.
NCDC also announced the recovery and discharge of 2,117 patients in Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
So far, about 142,404 patients have been successfully treated and discharged from various isolation centres across the nation.
