The popular Recording Academy award “Grammy Award” has nominated Burna Boy’s album “African Giant” under the Best World Music Album category.

Burna Boy’s album, African Giant got nominated in the Best World Album category.

The Nigerian was nominated in the category alongside Altin Gün for Gece, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for Fanm D’Ayiti, and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.

Nominees were led by Lizzo with eight nominations. She is followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X with six nominations.

The 62nd Grammy Awards will be held on January 26, 2020, and it will be hosted by Alicia Keys, making her the third woman and the first female musician to host the show twice in a row.

This is coming barely a few hours after Burna Boy pulled out from his highly publicised anti-xenophobia concert “Africa Unite” in South Africa, following threats of violence by the host country.
