The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, on Monday, projected that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals inaugurated Lagos by President Muhammadu Buhari will enhance electricity generation capacity in Nigeria.
Emefiele, at the inauguration of the refinery in Lekki, Lagos State, declared that the Dangote Refinery is expected to generate 12,000 megawatts of electricity in the country, create over 135,000 permanent jobs for Nigerians when full operations commence.
The CBN governor also projected that the Dangote refinery could save Nigeria between $25 and $30 billion in forex annually, adding that the refinery will further provide inflow of $10 billion annually for the country’s economy.
