The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu winner in the March 9, Governorship poll in Lagos.
Sanwo-olu defeated his closest rival, Mr Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with a wide margin of 533,304 votes.
After, painstakingly collating the results, INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede declared that having polled 739, 445 votes, Sanwo-Olu of the APC has been returned winner in the exercise.
He announced that Agbaje of the PDP, polled 206,141 votes in a contest conducted across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
The APC gubernatorial candidate won all the 20 local governments in the state.
Similarly, the APC won all the 40 state House of Assembly seats in the state.
