No fewer than 18 nurses have tested positive for coronavirus in Kano.
Kano State chairman of National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Comrade Ibrahim Muhammad, stated this on Wednesday.
He said 18 of the 86 samples of nurses taken returned positive.
He explained that nine of them are from National Orthopedic Hospital, Dala seven from Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and two from state hospitals.
The Nation reports that 34 doctors have also tested positive for COVID-19 in Kano, according to Nigerian Medical Association Chairman, Dr Sanusi Bala.
Muhammad appealed to government to provide health professionals with Personal Protective Equipment(PPEs) for them to conveniently discharge their responsibility.
