A member of the European Union has imposed strict conditions for visa application into its territory after the world would have overcome the coronavirus pandemic. President Emanuel Macron of France has ordered that negative result tested two weeks to visa application, new coronavirus test to confirm current status, and vaccination will henceforth be conditions for visa application into Schengen and aligned member states which include Germany, Italy, France and others.

The fear of coronavirus in the Schengen regional integration is germane.
In the global Coronavirus infection cases getting close to two million, after the leading casualty country, the United States which records 588,465 detected cases, the four Schengen member states which comprise Spain, Italy, France, and Germany are the next worse hit. Italy is the Schengen country that has the highest number of deaths.

A country of 33,785 population, San Marino, was identified to have recorded 371 deaths, being the highest on the ratio of one to one million deaths across the world.
The Schengen countries had taken similar tough measures against countries previously ravaged by Swine Flu and the Ebola virus.

Accordingly, the French president had insisted that the international borders of Schengen and Associated Member states could be locked down till September when the threatening COVID-19 would have subsided or eradicated. European countries are worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic with wider spread and higher death rates across the world.

The European Commission is advocating sustenance of closure of international borders till mid-May to contain the spread of coronavirus among member states. There is the fear that giving approval to further border closure extension to September may
Constrain non-members of EEA, including holders of residence permit from traveling to those countries.

An EU official had noted that when the coronavirus pandemic is over, while nationals are returning to normal businesses, additional travel documents may be required by member states on health conditions before issuing visas to applicants.

The Official was cited to have stated: “When the Schengen Borders open up in September, if they do, Schengen Visa applicants will need to submit a Coronavirus test that has resulted negative, taken within the last two weeks prior to the visa application. The traveller may be required to take a new test before travelling to the Schengen area, as to make sure that he/she has not been infected in the meantime.”

There is further condition which has to do with confirmation of the coronavirus vaccine and its availability in large quantity for everyone, then, visa applicants will be vaccinated, thereafter, for future protection if coronavirus continues to be active.
