Arsenal summer signing Ricardo Calafiori has said moving to England is a good step in his career.
Calafiori joined Arsenal from Serie A club Bologna in a deal worth £42m.
The 22-year-old, who can play at centre-back or left-back, signed a five-year contract with the Gunners until 2029.
He has gone on to feature for Mikel Arteta’s side who are yet to taste defeat in all competitions so far this season.
The Italian international opened his goals account when he netted a superb goal in the 2-2 draw at champions Manchester City last Sunday.
Speaking on his move to the Gunners, Calafiori believe he has impressed so far.
“Perhaps it’s a bit early to say, but I do think I have made a good impression,” he was quoted on Arsenal News Channel. “I settled in really well thanks to my teammates and the people who work here.
“I don’t feel like saying it is superior to our league, but it is certainly different. There is more intensity here, it’s a different style. Coming to England was a good step for my career.”
Calafiori is expected to be in action for Arsenal on Saturday when they host Leicester.
While the Gunners would be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season, the Foxes would be eyeing a first league win.
