ASUP Chairman disclosed this in a chat with selected Journalists at the premises of the school,he affirmed that the appointments of two Acting Deputy Rector would only be obtainable where the Rector was appointed on a substentive capacity.
He further said the two positions of Acting Deputy Rectors are by election but not through appointment as it was done in the Institution.
“Almost all the appointments done are a total flaw, saying it does not hold water, again all this would take place if the visitor to the Polytechnic sign the new Polytechnic law hanging”.
“As a Union leader when we approach the Chairman Governing Council over the appointments and he apologize to us”.
Aku explained that the Governing Council set aside the outcome of the interview conducted by the Council.
” We are saying is wrong to appoint an Acting Rector outside the school, this should be within the Polytechnic, even from common sense,if a chief died his son will succeed him but not an outsider, Is wrong to appoint an outsider as an Acting Rector which we in the Polytechnic have better hands. He added.
“By appointing outsiders on acting capacity, the left us in pains as well causing more harm to the Institution”.
The Chairman averred that issues of appointments into key positions are unabated impediment yet to be address by the State Government, saying the Institution would got it right only when the right thing is done.
He identified the appointments of outsiders into key positions to the mass exodus of academic staff to a better place of work seeking for a greener pasture.

ASUP Chairman while commenting on that said people within the Union are investigating the issue.
“If our findings uncovered that she was a staff of University of Agriculture,Makurdi before her recent appointment, automatically she is not qualify to be appointed as the Acting Rector,he added.
