To close out 2017, Di’ja released her EP, Aphrodija, and since then, she’s been pretty quiet. Well, she’s finally released a new song and music video to kick off 2019, “Mr Bob“, which pays tribute to the legendary Bob Marley, as he would have turned 74 today.

Given that Di’ja isn’t usually a dancehall or reggae artist, we’re surprised that she’s paying tribute to Bob Marley, as we have a number of other Nigerian stars who would have been in a better position to do so — Patoranking being the most obvious choice.

Nonetheless, we’re glad to hear a solid track from her, and she manages to switch up her sound quite seamlessly. On “Mr Bob”, Di’ja addresses Bob Marley, asking him what he thinks about all the horrible things in the world, listing them one by one.
