The First Lady, Aisha Buhari has revealed how her husband’s relatives physically confronted her in the viral video that shows her being blocked from accessing an apartment in the seat of power, despite being the wife of the president, Muhamadu Buhari.
Mrs. Buhari made this revelation while confirming the authenticity of a video clip that showed her in a very angry mood, shouting and complaining about being denied access to an apartment at the State House.
KanyiDaily had published the video in question which trended on Friday while rumour was circulating that President Buhari was getting married to Sadiya Umaru Farouq, minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development.
Speaking with BBC Hausa, Mrs. Buhari said she was the person in the video and that she reacted after being denied access to parts of the villa by her husband’s elder brother Maman Daura and his family members.
“I was the one in that video and this person you see standing at my back are my security personnel,” the first lady said.
“It was Fatima, the daughter of Mamman Daura that shot the video in front of my security and everybody there. She was actually recording the whole thing right in front of me and was laughing and mocking me.
“They did that because my husband sacked them from the house. He told them to get all their belongings and leave the house for my son (Yusuf) to occupy.
“I left them and wanted to get to one of the rooms but they prevented me from getting through, I left them and took another way yet I met the store locked,” she said.
Meanwhile, the daughter of Mamman Daura, Fatima has admitted that she took the now-viral video, but accused the First Lady of ‘violently’ attacking her and her family inside the presidential villa.
Fatima said she least expected Buhari’s wife to act in a violent manner.
Stating the reason for shooting the video, Mrs. Fsaid said: “I only wanted to use it as evidence because she was just screaming and insulting us for reasons best known to her.”
According to her, nobody was going to believe them if they had narrated the story, or if anyone did, nobody would get the gravity of the story so she decided to take the video.
