The two day competition begins on Monday, October 7 and ends on Tuesday, October 8, at the NUJ Press Centre, at 11.00 am each day.
Chairman of the 2019 Press Week Committee, Mallam Muhammed Rabiu, and Secretary, Olayinka Alaya, in a statement explained that the competition is part of activities marking this year’s Press Week for all journalists in the State.
According to the statement, the competition is being sponsored by the Patron and honourary member of the Kwara Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) , Prince Oladimeji Thompson, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Henry George Construction Company Limited.
“The Committee is delighted to partner with SWAN in organizing this competition to strengthen the working relationship among journalists and to enable them keep fit.
“NUJ will like to thank our sponsor, Prince Oladimeji Thompson, for identifying with the union and we are looking forward to strengthening the working relationship” the statement said.
The statement, however, indicated that Prince Thompson will be the special guest of honour at the final of the competition on Tuesday, at the NUJ Press Center, Offa Road, Ilorin.
