Seven members of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, who were on their way to bury a church member, lost their lives on the way to the funeral.
The church members were travelling from Jada to Guyuk when an accident occurred. It was gathered that 19 church members were involved in the crash, out of which seven lost their lives, while the others escaped with varying degrees of injury.
The accident occurred along the Ngurore Numan Road.
Among those, who lost their lives were Mr and Mrs Caleb Wulankaje, as well as the wife of Rev. Phanuel Aufrariya, the pastor of the LCCN 1 Jada, Bonotem Diocese.
The Archbishop of the church, Panti Filibus, paid a visit to three hospitals, where the survivors were receiving treatment on Thursday and also prayed with the families of the deceased.
The church confirmed the tragedy in a statement, saying, “Nineteen members of the LCCN No. 1 Jada, Bonotem Diocese, were travelling in a Toyota Hilux bus to attend the funeral of a deceased member when the accident occurred.”
