The Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere has called for the break up of Nigeria over alleged dominance of northern Muslims.
Afenifere made this call through one of its leaders, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, while speaking with The Sun on Friday, September 20, 2019.
He said the only option left for the country was to break up since President Muhammad Buhari could not yield to demand of peaceful co-existence.
“I have no objection to breaking up. People are talking of breaking up because the terms of coming together have been abrogated by the northern Muslims who are dominating us,” Adebanjo said.
He also added that “This is why the young elements, extremists in the South- East, South – South, South –West and the Middle Belt are yearning for break-up just because of their refusal to yield to our demand of peaceful co-existence.”
