28-year-old suya seller, Olayemi Agbamuche, who allegedly assaulted three brothers, on Thursday appeared at a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The police charged Agbamuche, who lives at Bariga, Lagos, with two counts of conspiracy and assault.
Prosecuting Sergeant Godwin Oriabure said the defendant committed the offence in July 2017, at Ayedun junction, Bariga.
He alleged that the defendant and four others at large beat up the complainant, Mr. Idris Suleiman, after he asked the defendant to pay him the money for the raw meat he was buying.
Oriabure alleged that the defendant beat up the complainant’s two brothers, Messrs. Hamzat Danjuma and Oseni Yakubu, when they tried to intervene.

He alleged that the defendant and his accomplices used a cutlass and broken bottles to inflict injuries on the complainant and his brothers.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate S. O. Obasa admitted the defendant to N20,000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.
She said the sureties must be above 40 years and employed.
Obasa said they must show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The case was adjourned till September 2.
