This year, emerging Nigerian artists, such as Fireboy DML, Rema and Joeboy, have really been running the show. After storming the industry with his breakout hit, “Baby”, Joeboy is finally out with a follow-up single, and “Beginning” is every bit as fantastic as we expected.
Produced by the consistently impressive Killertunes (Duncan Mighty’s “Fake Love”, Mayorkun’s “Bobo”), “Beginning” is another super catchy love song from the talented rising star. On the bright track, Joeboy serenades his special lady, telling her that he wants her all to himself.
“Beginning” is accompanied by a comical visualiser — similar to the viral one for “Baby” — that shows Joeboy and his lover willing to fight for each other. Toward the end of the clip, Joeboy proposes to his lover and gets to meet her parents, so we can assume they happily ever after.
