American football is mostly about speed, and that’s why scouts in the National Football League (NFL) are known for drilling up-and-coming talents in a sprint covering 40 yards, just to determine how fast they actually are.
The best time ever recorded in the drill is 4.22 seconds, and Usain Bolt achieved exactly that time when he casually ran the 40-yard dash over the weekend.
Bolt made an appearance at the NFL Super Bowl Experience, which usually precedes the Super Bowl every year. It wasn’t officially stated that he’d be running, but he got on the tracks in sweatpants and sneakers, and thrilled onlookers with his speed.
Although the record isn’t official, this only goes to show that the world’s fastest man is, well, still the ridiculously fast – even in retirement.
If the Olympic champion hadn’t called it quits in sports a few weeks ago (following his failure to kick off a proper career in football), we’re sure some NFL coaches would be falling over themselves to get him on their teams.
