More Details About The Warlord Who Sent His Gang To Kill Soldiers In Delta Emerge As Troops Trail Him

New information has surfaced regarding the mastermind behind the recent killing of seventeen (17) soldiers in Okuama, a community situated in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.

The militant leader (identity withheld), presently on the run, orchestrated the attack alongside his cohorts, targeting soldiers engaged in a peacekeeping mission within the community.

Military forces tracked the fleeing militant leader to the riverside settlement of Igbomorotu in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State during the week. However, their pursuit left the community devastated, with residents abandoning their homes after witnessing the razing of several houses.

Reports suggest that the military may extend their search for the fugitive militant leader and his associates to Peremabiri, another community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

Nevertheless, there remains conflicting information regarding the origin of the militant leader. Some sources claim he hails paternally from the Awawa community, while others contend he originates from Akwagbe, in close proximity to Okuama community.

Detectives have maintained surveillance on the suspect since the March 14th killings of the military personnel, striving to gather intelligence for his apprehension.

According to a reliable source, the suspect’s mother, a resident of Igbomotoru, relocated him to her ancestral home following her separation from his father. He spent his formative years in the secluded surroundings of Igbomotoru hinterlands.

Additionally, the suspect is reputed to be the founder of a peace group and volunteer force, actively engaged in humanitarian endeavors. He notably undertook the renovation of the dilapidated residence of the late Niger Delta freedom fighter, Isaac Boro, in Kaiama, Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and generously contributed one million naira to the Boro family in commemoration of his legacy.

Described as a devoted disciple of Isaac Boro, the suspect’s involvement in curbing crude oil theft in the Bomo axis of the state has been reported, albeit unverified, alongside allegations of involvement in bunkering activities.
