Nigerian comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as Cute Abiola, has reflected on his experience of being in military detention.
Kanyi Daily recalls that Cute Abiola, who was a former Naval officer, was arrested by the Nigerian Navy in 2021 for violating the armed forces’ social media policy.
The comedian was released after 18 days in detention to serve his punishment after he was tried for misconduct and indiscipline.
Taking to his Instagram page on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, Cute Abiola shared photos of himself and others in detention.
The comedian expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces, admitting that the 30 days he spent inside the cell was a humbling period.
“30 days Inside Cell 2021 ! The military really humbled me !!!! Thank you Armed Forces,” he wrote.
KanyiDaily recalls that the Nigeran police had recently accused Cute Abiola of disrespectful use of Police uniform in his skits.
