Senator Bassey Otu, the Governor of Cross River State and chairman of Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC’s) governorship direct primary election, has announced that a new shadow poll will take place in the 192 wards spread across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Addressing reporters briefly at Lushville Hotel and Suites on Gapiona Avenue in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Benin, Otu disclosed that the controversial primary election held last Saturday has been canceled.
Governor Hope Uzodinma who chaired the controversial primaries that threw up different candidates had been pushed aside after several contenders and many other APC members called for his sack. Having dropped him, APC appointed Otu to head the rescheduled primary.
