Driver And Four Passengers Escape Death As Car Somersaults in Abuja (Photo)

A driver and four passengers have escaped death after their car somersaulted in Abuja.

They were travelling from Zuba to Garki Area 1 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

It was gathered that the tyre of the car burst before it somersaulted several times along Bernex Road on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. 

The Mazda car with registration number SUL-819-MO was said to have 30 car batteries in the trunk.

According to the Daily Trust, the survivors sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

One of the survivors, Mr. Gabriel Anakobe, told the publication that he boarded the car from Zuba to Bernex, not knowing that the driver of the car had loaded the trunk with used batteries. 

He blamed the driver for overloading the car which resulted in the accident.

“I thank God for my life and that of other passengers. Although some of them sustained injuries, nobody died,” he said.
