Peter Mbah Orders Shutdown Of Schools, Businesses Observing Monday Sit-At-Home In Enugu

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Chidiebere Onyia.

The statement said the new measure is aimed at curtailing nefarious activities of kidnappers and criminal elements as well as enhancing public security and safety in the state.

According to the government, vehicle owners have four weeks to remove or replace them except for those with Police Tinted Permits.

The statement disclosed that defaulting vehicles will be impounded until compliance and payment of the specified fine are met.

The government called for the cooperation of the general public.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that Niger’s military rulers have closed the country’s airspace as the one-week ultimatum given by the West African regional bloc, ECOWAS expired on Sunday,

The military leaders, therefore warned that it would deploy an “energetic and immediate response” should there be an attempt to violate the closure.
