Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Chichi has taken legal action against her colleague, Phyna, for alleged defamation of character.
The legal action comes in response to the heated argument between them during the BBNaija Reunion, where Phyna accused Chichi of abandoning her husband and two children in Benin City, leading to the death of one of her kids.
Although Chichi had vehemently denied being married with children during her appearance on the reunion show, she is seeking N100 million in damages from Phyna.
Chichi clarified that photos circulating in January 2023, showing her with a man and a baby, were misconstrued. She explained that the man in question is actually her father’s youngest brother and there is no basis for assuming he is her husband.
Phyna also alleged that Chichi strategically used the memory of her deceased parents to gain an advantage in the show. She said that Chi Chi’s brain was filled with silicone implants, insinuating that she lacked the intelligence to engage in conversations among “human beings.”
Phyna also age-shamed Chichi, whom she alleged to be 33 years old, adding that she was a stripper and a “mother of two, with one child abandoned and one who died.”
In another shocking accusation, the BBNaija star claimed that Chichi had poisoned her friend in Cyprus out of jealousy, which she posted on her Snapchat account.
In response to these allegations, Chichi has retained legal representation and filed a lawsuit against Phyna. Her lawyers argue that the accusation of poisoning is entirely false, malicious, slanderous, and lacks any basis in truth.
They further assert that Phyna’s statements have had severe consequences for Chichi, leading to the loss of several endorsement deals and damaging her public image.
KanyiDaily recalls that Phyna claimed that Chichi allegedly wished her death and hurled derogatory insults at her, such as calling her womb-less, having saggy breasts, being an abortionist, and a drug addict.
