President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed his plans to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerians due to the removal of fuel subsidies. The announcement was made by Tinubu during a live broadcast on Monday in honor of Democracy Day.
It is important to note that Tinubu’s administration recently eliminated fuel subsidy, resulting in a significant increase in petrol pump prices, from N197 to nearly N500 per liter.
Nevertheless, Tinubu urged Nigerians to endure the temporary difficulties, assuring them that his administration would provide relief. In order to compensate for the loss of gasoline subsidies, he outlined a commitment to substantial investments in transportation infrastructure, education, reliable power supply, healthcare, and other essential public services.
“The government I lead will repay you through massive investment in transportation infrastructure, education, regular power supply, healthcare and other public utilities that will improve the quality of lives”, he stated.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily News earlier posted the President’s Democracy full speech.
