Some gunmen who are suspected to be cultists have caused a stir on Bayelsa State.

They caused a stir after they abducted a construction worker, identified as Wale, killed and dumped his corpse along the Gloryland Drive Expressway in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. 

According to the neighbours, the victim was ambushed by the armed men on Friday night close to his house along school road, Akenpai axis of Yenagoa as he was returning from work.

He was then ordered by the abductors to drive them in his car to an unknown destination.

Neighbours of the slain construction worker in the Akenpai area of Yenagoa told Daily Trust that Wale whose body was found on Saturday, appeared to have died from a gunshot.

The police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the murder of the construction worker, said the police suspected that the death was cult-related, adding that  investigation was ongoing to unravel those behind the murder.

He said the deceased had been identified as Wale, but his surname was unknown at the moment, adding that the corpse had been evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy.
