NSCDC arrests 58-year old man, accomplices for sodomy in Sokoto

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command, said it had arrested 58 years old man and four of his accomplices for allegedly conspiring to sodomize his seven-year-old n nephew.

The State NSCDC’s Commandant, Mr. Muhammad Dada, said this at a news Conference on Monday in Sokoto.

Dada said all the suspects were arrested when neighbors raised alarm over the heinous crime.

“Our investigation revealed that the uncle of the victim was the first suspect who raped the underage boy and thereafter invited four other persons.

“The command has obtained a court order to further detain the suspects to conclude the investigation on their matter before they will be charged to court.”

The commandant advised parents and guidance to often keep close watch over their children and wards to avoid such heinous crimes from being perpetrated.

He commended the prompt response from members of the public, saying community policing was best for the safety and security of the people at all times.
