Chief Olabode George, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has slammed the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.

He said Ayu must vacate his seat before the commencement of campaign for the 2023 elections.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) timetable, the campaign will commence on September 28, 2022.

But speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Thursday, George said it was unfair for the National Chairman, Presidential candidate and Chairman BoT of the PDP to be from the same zone.

He said the right thing to do is for Ayu to vacate his seat before the campaign, as it will not be right to go into the campaign with a divided house.

According to him what the Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike is asking for is the right thing, in the interest of justice, peace and unity of the party.

Wike has been on the frontline in the quest of some PDP chieftains to oust Ayu.
