President Muhammadu Buhari in renewed consciousness of leaving a laudable legacy after his eight years of leadership of Nigeria, is taking tougher security measures against bandits on the northwest Nigeria who have been under military bombardment in the past few weeks, as well as other violent gangs, including kidnappers in the country. The President, accordingly, increased the capacity of the Nigerian military to exterminate bandits and other perpetrators of violent crimes in the country, providing Satellite Communication Vehicles to the military to ease surveillance, detections and information flow in crime control.
Subsequently, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, earlier in the week, commissioned some Satellite Communication Vehicles which are to be distributed to the various Theatres of Operations combating bandits, Boko Haram terrorists, kidnappers and others across the country.
The President has shown determination to end violent crimes in Nigeria before the end of his second tenure in 2023.
