The EFCC has finally arrested Abia former governor after months of effort to get him for interrogation as he has been under investigation since he left office and entered the National Assembly.

Theodore Orji was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on his way out on August 19.

Operatives of the anti-graft agency took him straight to their headquarters in Abuja for questioning.

His son Abia House of Assembly Speaker Chinedu equally turned himself on hearing of his father’s arrest.

Both father and son are currently detained and undergoing questioning.

The Orjis were accused of allegedly receiving N500 million monthly as a security vote for the eight years Orji was governor, between 2007 and 2015.

Other allegations against him concerned the alleged mismanagement of N2 billion Ecological Fund and the mismanagement of Sure-P funds.
