Rivers Governorship: Awara Floors Wike In Two LGAs, As INEC Collates Poll Results Of 10 LGAs

The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Rivers state, Engr. Biokpomabo Awara, has floored his arch rival, Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in two local government areas as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results of 10 local government areas (LGAs) collated so far.

At the ongoing collation of the results of the state’s governorship elections held on March 9 in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, AAC won both Oyibo and Akuku-Toru LGAs.

 At Oyibo LGA, AAC polled 32,026 votes against PDP’s 8,652 votes. Also at Akuku-Toru LGA, AAC scored 36,661 votes to defeat PDP which got 25,765 votes.

However, the PDP currently polled 249,400 votes while the African Action Congress (AAC) has scored 106,886 votes in the 10 LGAs collated so far by the electoral umpire. The PDP is leading with 142,514 votes.
