Popular singer, Tiwa Savage has called on Nigerian youths to stop relying on celebrities for protest, but to rather stand and fight for the good of the nation.
Tiwa Savage stated this in a video shared on her Instagram page as she joined many other celebrities in the ongoing #EndSARS protest holding in Lagos State.
KanyiDaily had reported that many Nigerian celebrities, including Falz and Runtown, had taken to the streets of Lagos this morning to lead the protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police Force over brutality, illegal arrest, extortion, extra-judicial killings, among others.
In the video shared on her IG page, Tiwa Savage urged Nigerian youths to join the protest and let the government know that they are tired of bad governance.
She also advised youths to stop relying on celebrities since they could vote for their favourite Big Brother Naija housemates without the help of celebrities, adding that the country’s problem is for all and should be solved by all.
“This is serious, this isn’t the time to joke. Nigerian youths, you guys need to wakeup, there are people out there that have lost children to this thing.
This is why they don’t take us serious, they think Nigerian youths are lazy, and all we want to do is just ‘Jaiye’. Do you want to die a joke?
You don’t have to rely on celebrities, you did not need celebrities when you guys were voting on big brother, we can all do this, we all need each other,” she said.
