A pharmacy in Nigeria reportedly sold Hydroxychloroquine sulfate for ₦50,000 After Dr. Emmanuel Stella claimed that she has used the anti-malaria drug to cure more than 350 patients in the United States.

KanyiDaily recalls that Dr Stella Emmanuel had publicly stated in a video broadcast that hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax have been used to cure COVID-19 patients.

She dismissed experts’ warning that hydroxychloroquine could cause serious heart problems for coronavirus patients, citing her experience with the use of the drugs to treat no fewer than 350 patients.

Since the video of the medical doctor went viral, the price of Hydroxychloroquine sulfate in Nigeria has skyrocketed in some pharmacies.

A Twitter user claimed a pack of Hydroxychloroquine sulfate, containing 60 tablets, was sold for ₦50,000 at a pharmacy in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Donald Trump had revealed that he has been taking ‘hydroxychloroquine’ to prevent coronavirus infection even though it is not yet a proven treatment.
