A 25-year-old man, Agboola David, has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault.
The defendants were arraigned by the police on a count charge of assault before Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye.
The police prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Okunade, told the Court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 20 at about 3:00pm in Isinbode Ekiti.
Okunade alleged that the defendant fought with one Adeniran Adesola, by macheting him on the head which caused grevious harm on him.
He said the offence committed contravened section 335 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor asked the Court for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and gather his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The Counsel to the defendant, Mr Kayode Oluwasola, urged the Court to grant him bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.
The Magistrate, Adegboye granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until April 29.
