Nigerian-born UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman says he is confident of making light work of Conor McGregor if they ever get into the octagon.

Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz challenged
McGregor after offering the Irish fighter the chance to face Usman for the UFC welterweight belt.

Abdelaziz tweeted: “It looks like #1 contender wants to fight Nate Diaz now. Good for him. Conor McGregor  hey you want a title shot ? Come to daddy, Usman will give you one and he promise first two rounds without takedowns only slaps.”

And reacting to his manager’s challenge to McGregor Usman wrote on his Twitter handle:”I really don’t understand why you all want this man DEAD!!! I’d shag him in there if I wanted and he’d “DO NOTHIN” FOH.”

Nicknamed the “Nigerian Nightmare” Usman has won 16 of his 17 fights, suffering just one defeat.

Riding on the back of a nine-fight winning streak, Usman faced former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley on March 2, 2019, in the co-main event at UFC 235.

The 33-year-old won the fight via unanimous decision to become the new UFC Welterweight Champion.

He made his first title defense against
Colby Covington at UFC 245 on December 14, 2019 and was victorious via fifth round technical knockout with the fight earning him the Fight of the Night award.

McGregor, 31, had won 22 of his 26 fights and has been defeated four times.

After over a year away from the Octagon, McGregor faced Donald Cerrone in a welterweight bout on 18 January 2020 at UFC 246.

He won the fight via technical knockout 40 seconds into the first round.
